Introduced at the Paris Salon in the second week of October on the stand of the French importer, Ferrari France / Ch. Pozzi, was the new replacement for the Ferrari 512 TR, now called the F512 M ("F" for Ferrari, and "M" for Modified, we are told).

The famous glass pavilion designed by Mies van der Rohe at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin was the perfect place to illustrate the creative technology of Ferrari. In addition to the twelve Ferraris, like the 250 GTO, s/n 5095 GT, there were many materials used in the design and development process, including iron rod body jigs, wooden body jigs, wind tunnel models, original detailed blue prints and full engines.

14NotizieFerrari F355 Spyder idea proposed

Mark van der Meijs

Creative minds are always at work. Here is an imaginative rendition of what a true F355 Spyder could look like. The lines of the regular F35 are pleasant enough, so that they lend themselves to a spyder version quite easily. No plans announced yet be Ferrari but there should be a spyder eventually, given the great success of the 348 Spider.

A remembrance ...

Michael T. Lynch

One of the honored guests at this year's Monterey Historic Automobile Races was to have been Luigi Chinetti. Unfortunately, Mr. Chinetti died at his Greenwich, Connecticut home the week before the event. Monterey organizer Steve Earle added a parade lap of cars that had run under Chinetti's North American Racing Team banner, with Mr. Chinetti's 1949 le Mans winning 166 Barchetta running slightly apart from the others in a touching tribute.

Daytona, Florida, shortly before midnight on January 30, 1971: The Martini-sponsored Porsche 917 enters the long banking of the Daytona Speedway at almost 190 miles per hour and in this moment the right rear tire explodes. Directly behind the Porsche is mark Donohue with the blue Ferrari 512 M of the Sunoco sponsored Kirk F. White / Roger Penske racing team.
26MontereyFerrari at Monterey - 1994!
It only comes every ten years, bit it's worth the wait

Michael T. Lynch

Part of savoring any great event is the time spent in anticipation. Since 1984, Ferraristi have been waiting for the sequal to that year's International Ferrari Meet held in conjunction with the Monterey Historic Automobile Races and the Pebble Beach Concours.
Ten years on, Steve Earle declared Ferrari the honored marque at the 1999 MHAR, Pebble Beach added special Ferrari classes, and the Ferrari Club of America scheduled their annual meeting in Monterey as well.
43Corse348 Challenge ends the year of 1994, becomes the Ferrari Challenge for 1995
It was a success in Europe in 1993, and it soon became a success in America in 1994; Great Britain and Japan begin formal series in 1995, and no doubt they will find success, too. Whomever thought up the 348 Challenge Series deserves a pat on the back - it gave owners a change to compete in real competition in Ferraris, it gave the ailing dealers more business involving prep and repair, and it gave Ferrari a chance to move some 348s in a continuing recession around the globe.

46CorseIMSA World Sports Car - the drama continues...
Ferrari F333 SP

Robert Pease

With just two races left in the inaugural WSC season, the point battle was really starting to heat up. It seemed that the Manufacturer's Championship would be contested right up to the last lap. Unfortunately for Ferrari, at mid-season, the Euromotorsports Team had closed its doors, Ferrari North America had to retrieve its two cars, and it had to try to reorganize its efforts and find a team to campaign the cars.
